“Great CD” I heard a story about her on NPR. I had not been aware of her, but I liked what was playing behind the story. On that basis, I ordered the CD. The CD is a collection of all excellent songs, not a bad one in the bunch. They are catchy melodies with lyrics that are hard to piece out initially, but after a number of listens, I can make out the words. Someday, I might even get the meaning and poetry behind the lyrics. (There are printed lyrics in the jewel box, but I am extending my fun by not looking.)
Anyway, this is the only new artist in a long time that seems to have commercial and staying appeal.

Worth the wait ![]() It took two years, an unusually long time for a debut album, but Erin McCarley’s first release was worth the wait. Lushly produced acoustic pop, none of these thoughtful tunes drag. There are no dogs on this album, but each song carries its own weight and is worth its own consideration, making it an album to listen to in its entirety and not just the source of a single or two. And her voice … such soul. Rich. Nuanced. Emotive. Beautiful. Definitely worth the wait…. It’s been done already No matter, it’s not bad music, and the lyrics are kind of cute. But not worth more than the $1.99 it was debuted at…. Nice Wrong Price |

Great Debut
Great debut by a very talented singer songwriter, though why it took two years is anyones guess, but in this reviewer’s humble opinion it’s well worth the wait. There’s a fragile and effortless quality to Erin’s beautiful voice, which to my pig’s ears has a very clear likeness to Alison Sudol’s. Excellent album with a great finishing track….
It has everything!
I heard McCarley interviewed on NPR, and it was impressive. She has depth and can think and has talent, and it all comes thru in her songs. She’s remarkable!
