“Ergonomics deficient but works well” The ergonomics need improvement, but everything functions properly. I loved my MS Sidewinder 3D Pro but many new PCs obsoleted the 15-pin joystick port, so I had to buy a USB joystick. The Saitek had the same “swivel” rudder control that I loved on the Sidewinder. The RAH-66 Comanche was reported to have the same type of rudder control before DoD axed the program, so apparently the higher-ups liked the control interface as well.
Product Description A famous Joystick legacy continues with the ‘evo’ – the next stunning installment of Saitek’s renowned Cyborg development, offering improved adjustability, refined control interfaces and new hard hitting styling. Adjustable Palm Rest and central level throttle for left- or right-handed gaming. 4-direction Adjustment Screws let you move stick head to find your optimum gaming position. Program your controller for each game using the powerful smart technology software. |

Complete Control ![]() I use this unit to fly combat missions in Microsoft’s various Flight Simulators and in piloting a Mech during Mechwarrior battles. The unit makes the transition easily. I don’t have to worry about the technology in my hand, it just performs. Overall, it provides a flexible (programable) platfrom that delivers impressive gaming performace. A great device…. ok, not great I have only used it for about a month, but I already experience some binding in the central balljoint at the base of the stick. For the price, it seems reasonable. There really are not a lot of choices in the mid-price range…. Good Joystick |

Sooooo nice! Not heavy enough though.
This is sooo easy to set up and so versatile. Great joystick. The only problem with it is that its hard to keep it on the table because it picks up so easily.
GOOD VALUE FOR PRODUCT
THIS PRODUCT WAS PURCHASED IN MY WIFE’S NAME BUT WAS FOR ME. THE PRODUCT IS A GOOD PURCHASE FOR THE PRICE. I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT IT DID NOT COME WITH A CD OR MANUAL. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THE FUNCTIONS BY TRIAL AND ERROR. IT WORKS WELL AND IS A VAST IMPROVEMENT OVER TRYING TO FLY BY MOUSE CONTROL. SINCE I HAD USED THE MOUSE SO MUCH I HAD TO MORE OR LESS START ALL OVER BUT IT IS MUCH MORE RESPONSIVE AND SENSITIVE THAN THE MOUSE. IT SEEMS WELL MADE AND I THINK IT IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE.
It’s FAIR…..
I found this joystick to be about average…
The cons—
The spring loaded centering doesn’t always seem to react the way you need it too…. when flying simulators precision and feedback are everything— especially when flying against live players.
The joystick has tons of easily accessible buttons, which is great, and the refinement of the buttons is phenominal and comfortable, feels wonderful… and is a bit “exciting” to say the least.
The throttle in the middle is downright annoying and you have to “cross” your hands just to use it, when in the fully throttle position, you tend to move the throttle with your joystick hand when pulling back on the stick… annoying.
With a little getting used to though, I got the feel for this stick and it works great…. BUT….
in comparison, I highly recommend the microsoft sidewinder joystick, as the sidewinder is much better responsive to flying, it just feels better, reacts better, and never does anything unexpected, you get a better feel for the aircraft, period.
Don’t let this hold you back though, both are fantastic, but you will never know the difference by going to best buy and playing around, you need to play YOUR game with them, sorry to say it.
