Comment on Slik EZ Pod Monopod with Pan Head and Quick-Release by Louisa

Slik Monopod A Great Accessory

Slik EZ Pod Monopod with Pan Head and Quick-Release
Overall I like this monopod. It's sturdy and easy to take on the road with me.
The Pros: well made, strong; positive leg locking leavers; great fine height adjustment feature; quick-release feature is strong and positive, and really quick to change; the provided carrying strap makes it easy to carry.
The Cons: just too short when fully extended for me to stand upright (I'm 5'-10" - would be worse for anyone taller), so I have to stoop to use it and never get to use the neat fine height adjustment; quick-release feature requires that a compatiple shoe (one is provided with the pod) be attached to any camera or long-lense that you want to put on the pod, so be sure to get enough for all your stuff; those shoes need to be left attached to the equipment (if you don't want to be constantly putting them on and taking them off, which would defeat the purpose anyway); the shoe is bulky (fits comfortably under a SLR, but is much bigger than the base of a point-and-shoot) and prevents a camera from being set upright on a flat surface.

A long list of cons, but still doesn't overshadow a great product, well made, and fun to use.

Captivating.

Atkinson is fast becoming a favorite of mine. Her writing is outstanding, and her humor is genius.

This was my favorite Brodie novel to date. What I admire so much about this book, is that Atkinson didn't fall into the trap that many authors do when writing a series - turning out the same book again and again. The writing was top notch, and the story engrossing.

When Will There Be Good News was full of the complexity and detail that made Behind the Scenes at the Museum: A Novel such a great read. There were a lot of characters, but they were fascinating and likeable, and there were a lot of threads to the story which were woven together excellently.

I hope Atkinson turns out some non-Brodie fiction again in the future, but I will eagerly await the next installment in the series as well.

Scary women.

I caved in this weekend and let my wife pick this movie, (but only because I got two other movies for myself) and we were kind of let down. This was one of those cases, and most female oriented movies are, that the previews almost turn out better than the actual movie. Even my wife commented on how they were so mean and rude to other men that we both could not figure out why anyone would marry either of them. There was not enough story development to make it worthwhile. I definitely would not buy this one. Rent it first, and then if you like it, buy it.

Great Tool

Used this to prep for the AFAST. It was spot on in and I would recommend it to anyone who is going to take the test. However, you will also need to find another source to study for the helicopter section.

Buy the 3 quart set

I've used my Mr. Coffee 3 quart ice tea maker so much that I wore out the first two pitchers. I only make it with water, not ice. I use speciality tea I purchase at Teavana which can be found online. Everyone I know now has this set and makes their tea this way. The 3 quart set is hard to find, I only see the 2 quart set in the stores. Thank heavens for Amazon.com that carries both sets and replacement pitchers as well. When my family and friends come to my home, they ask if I have any tea made. Usually I do, being a Southerner, but if I don't they are always dissappointed. I also use about a cup of splenda per pitcher and keep 2 pitchers as one basket of tea (1/2 to 3/4 cup of tea) will make 2 pitchers of tea. I have a poster I made up to give to my friends and family that I call Aunt Beckie's Tea Instructions. That is how much we all use and enjoy this product. The tea is wonderful but you have to have something to make it in and the 3 quart Mr. Coffee system works for me.

Great collector's DVD.

I have a fairly large (approx. 4000+ items)jazz CD and vinyl collection. This is my first jazz DVD. My wife saw the Chris Botti - Live concert and convinced me to buy it. It is the first of my new collection of jazz DVDs.

Case

Since the fabric was different on the back side I think a picture should have been shown or told the customer.
The back was ugly. So if
I was to buy it again I would ask or get a solid color. Not one color design from the front was on the back.
So I think it was misrepresented.
